A man who was wanted in the slaying of a 71-year-old California man was arrested in Vancouver on Tuesday.

Ruslan Yaroslavovich Bazelyan, 21, was taken into custody Tuesday with the help of the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

Authorities found Ronald Henry Rush dead from blunt force trauma to the head in his Antioch house on June 11 and allege that Bazelyan, who had been staying with Rush in recent weeks, took Rush’s phone and fled in the victim’s car, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Leland Razok said that on July 2 the task force learned Bazelyan was in the Vancouver area, and found him on Tuesday camping out at Vancouver Lake. They arrested him at 3:45 p.m.

Bazelyan was living in Battle Ground before moving to California and has a lot of friends and family in the Battle Ground area, Razok said.

The gold convertible BMW that Bazelyan allegedly stole from Rush is believed to have been sold for parts in the area, Razok said.
