Police and parents are searching for a teen who went missing from her home in Salmon Creek early Monday.

Rachel Murphy, 16, was discovered missing from her home in the 300 block of Northwest 152nd Avenue around 5 a.m. Monday. Her parents describe her as 5-foot, 5-inches tall and 160 pounds, with blond hair, brown eyes and a piercing under her lip. She also has braces with pink bands.

Her mother, Karen Ellis, believes she may be with a 21-year-old man from Portland. Murphy is a student at Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, she said.

“She’s very, very book smart, but not street smart,” Ellis said.

Portland police have also been notified about the runaway teen.

Anyone who spots the teen should call 911.
