The condition of a Vancouver man who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Sunday in Oregon has improved.
Grant A. Timperly, 32, remains at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, but his condition was upgraded Tuesday from serious to good.
Timperly was riding a 1995 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Highway 6 about 2:30 p.m. Sunday when he slowed for traffic about 20 miles east of Tillamook, Ore. An unidentified vehicle then struck him from behind, pushing him 50 feet into the back of a Toyota Camry.
Witnesses were not able to provide a description of the vehicle, and police continue to look for the responsible driver and the involved vehicle, which they say likely has heavy front-end damage.
Oregon State Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver. Anyone with information to help identify the vehicle and driver is asked to call the Police Northern Command Center dispatch at 800-452-7888.
