A project at Washington State University Vancouver promotes the development and preservation of electronic literature as it becomes inaccessible with updated technology.
The public can attend a free lecture titled “Failure to Contain: Electronic Literature and the State of (Machine) Reading” by Stuart Moulthrop at 7 p.m. July 9 at the Nouspace Gallery, a part of the North Bank Gallery at 1005 Main St., Vancouver.
Moulthrop started the project with Dene Grigar, associate professor and director of the creative media and digital culture program at WSU Vancouver. It’s titled “Pathfinders: Documenting the Experience of Early Digital Literature.”
The electronic literature preserved through this project will be featured in international databases and in an app book to be released after the project is complete.
