CAMAS — Building permits have been secured to start construction on Fisher Investments’ second five-story office building at its Camas campus, a pivotal development for the California-based firm.
Completion of the $17 million project — expected roughly one year from now — could mean more Fisher Investments employees will work in Washington than at the company’s main operations center in San Mateo, Calif., near Fisher’s Woodside, Calif.-based headquarters.
The new building, 5225 N.W. Fisher Creek Drive, will have the capacity to house roughly 445 employees, which would match the number now reporting to the firm’s first Camas office building, five stories completed in late 2011. Approximately 600 Fisher Investments employees are based in California, company founder Ken Fisher said.
The company is in a hiring mode in both states. Fisher Investments manages $49 billion in assets for private clients, as well as public pensions and financial plans for Fortune 500 companies.
