Girls basketball: Mountain View 58, Kelso 42

Four players scored in double figures for Mountain View, and the Thunder won to finish in a tie for second in the Class 3A Greater St. Helens League.

Mountain View and Kelso will play again Thursday for the No. 2 seed to the district tournament. The top two seeds advance to bi-district regardless of how they fare in district. The No. 3 seed will play a loser-done game against the No. 4 seed in the first game at district.

Emma DuChesne led Mountain View with 15 points. Carly Holboke added 14, Bailey Lindsley had 11, and Amica Cranston scored 10.

Lindsley had three of Mountain View’s seven 3-pointers.

“The girls played really, really tough,” Mountain View coach Mat Clark aid. “They shared the ball really well tonight.”

Mountain View jumped out to a 14-point lead after the first quarter. The advantage was down to eight at the half, but Mountain View dominated the third quarter to maintain control.
