Girls basketball: Hockinson 53, Columbia River 38

The Hawks’ man-to-man defense took over down the stretch as Hockinson used a big fourth quarter to win the non-league game.

The Hawks outscored the Chieftains 17-2 in the fourth quarter to provide the margin of victory. The Chieftains did not have a field goal in the fourth quarter.

Katelyn McGuire had 12 points, five steals and six rebounds for Hockinson. Sydnie Cole provided six steals, Brianna Curtis had four steals and six rebounds, and Ellie Tilkin grabbed seven boards.

Kim Lowery scored 18 of her 20 points before halftime for Columbia River, when she hit four 3-pointers.
