A Vancouver woman remains in serious condition at Peacehealth Southwest Medical Center from injuries sustained in a head-on collision on Highway 503 Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the crash, reported at 4:08 p.m. about six miles north of Lewisville Park near Fargher Lake. Washington State Patrol gave this account:

Drew W. Uskoski, 16, of Yacolt was northbound on the highway in a 1997 Honda Odyssey, crossed the double yellow line into the southbound lane and collided with a 1998 Honda Civic driven by Nicole A. Blahnik, 22, of Vancouver.

Blahnik was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center where she was in the intensive care unit Wednesday night.

Uskoski and his passenger, Landon D. Sarkinen, 16, both were treated and later released at PeaceHealth.

Uskoski was cited for second-degree negligent driving.

The highway was shut down for about 90 minutes.
