A Vancouver man suspected of driving a motorcycle under the influence was arrested after a single-vehicle crash just north of the Interstate 5 Bridge on Wednesday morning.
Clifton Weese, 24, of Vancouver was driving a 2007 Suzuki LS 650 motorcycle north on I-5 in the center lane when he tried to change lanes and lost control, skidded into the concrete barrier and was thrown from the bike and into a tree, according to a Washington State Patrol bulletin.
The motorcycle came to rest in the center lane after the crash, which occurred just after 8 a.m., before a passing motorist moved it to the side of the highway.
Emergency responders arrived to find Weese unconscious and lying in the paved median between jersey barriers and transported him to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center with broken bones, compound fracture to his left leg, several fractures to his ribs and left arm, and damage to his kidneys during the collision, the bulletin said.
