The Wildcats held off a resilient Cougars squad for the Class 1A Trico League win.

La Center used a spurt late in the third quarter to shake Seton after the visitors started the second half with six quick points to pull within six.

Jeremiah Arn had 21 points and 10 rebounds for La Center.

“The Seton kids played real well. They challenged us,” said La Center coach Jon Schroeder, who coached Seton Catholic last season. “It was a great game for us to come out on top of. That helps us, too, going down the stretch.”

Connor Wonderly scored six of his 15 points in the third quarter to help the Wildcats gain control of the game. La Center (10-7, 9-6) is tied with Castle Rock for fourth place in the Trico league. The Wildcats visit the Rockets on Thursday.

Each team made eight 3-pointers, but La Center had 30 total field goals to Seton Catholic’s 19 baskets.

Will Nolce-Sheldon scored 15 points and Justin James 14 to lead Seton Catholic (3-14, 3-12).
