• The Woodland Chamber of Commerce has selected its 2012 award winners at its annual installation banquet Jan. 12 at the Red Lion Hotel in Kelso. They are Bruce Brunson, citizen of the year; USNR, a manufacturer of machine systems for sawmills, business of the year; Carol Moore of the Port of Woodland, and Lori Smith of U.S Postal Service, employees of the year. Nelson Holmberg, Port of Woodland’s executive director, was installed as the chamber board’s president.
• Candy Humphrey was recently hired as the residence sales manager and Priscilla Drake was hired as the dining services coordinator for Lexington house, an Assisted Living Concepts community. Humphrey previously worked for Global Health Alerts in Vancouver. Drake worked as a certified nursing assistant at Lexington House prior to taking the new position.
• Six certified public accountants at the Barrett & Company PLLC certified public accounting firm have recently earned the designation of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional. They are Lance A. Barrett, Cathy Van Orden, Crissie Greco, Alex Barrett, Joe Waite and Heidi Burres. The certifications are from the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals, Inc.
