Girls basketball: Hockinson 48, Ridgefield 42

Katelyn McGuire had 10 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals as the Hawks overcame a slow first quarter for the 2A GSHL victory.

Ridgefield led 10-5 after the first period, but Hockinson rallied for a 21-19 halftime lead and extended the margin in the third quarter. The Hawks made 9 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter to maintain their advantage.

Brianna Curtis finished with nine points, eight rebounds, and five steals for Hockinson, while Sydnie Cole had 11 points and six steals.

Jessica Shaffer led Ridgefield with 13 points, and Elizabeth Vance added 10.
