Clark women remain unbeaten in league

The Clark College women improved to 3-0 in league play Wednesday with an 81-56 victory over Green River of Auburn.

Dom Johnson led the Penguins (5-8 overall) with 19 points, while Andrea Smith added 16.

Clark, which has won all three of its West Division games by at least 21 points, led 46-27 at the half behind seven 3-point baskets.

The Penguins are tied with Centralia atop the division, while Tacoma (2-0 in league) is a half-game back. They host Lower Columbia (3-1 league) at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Against Green River, the Penguins had 17 steals and held the Gators to 33 percent shooting from the field.

Northwest men

Green River 60, Clark 57 — The Penguins (9-3, 3-1) suffered their first league loss as they shot 37 percent from the field.

Sean Price led Clark with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Phillip Hertz added 16 points.

Kortney Darby led a balanced attack for Green River with 13 points.
