Boys basketball: Hockinson 43, R.A. Long 34

Hockinson got points from 10 different players and prevailed in a defensive struggle Monday, beating R.A. Long 43-34.

A 12-3 start provided Hockinson with a nine-point cushion that stood up in the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League game. Hockinson finished 6 for 26 from 3-point range, but held the Lumberjacks to only nine field goals.

Alan Haagen had five steals for Hockinson (7-7, 1-1), and Wyatt Yearout pulled down six rebounds.
