Grass Valley school raises pennies for cancer research

Grass Valley — Grass Valley Elementary School came in third among the more than 65 schools in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Southwest Washington that participated in Olive Garden restaurants’ Pasta for Pennies, a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Boxes and jars left around Grass Valley collected $3,759.71 over a three-week period. Grass Valley won a pasta party at a local Olive Garden. Overall, Pasta for Pennies has raised more than $70 million nationwide since it began in 1994.
