A registered sex offender who poses a risk to re-offend is now transient in Clark County.

Shaun Lynn Appelman, 32, is classified as a Level 3 sex offender, the group considered most likely to commit new sex crimes, according to a bulletin put out by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. He is not wanted by police at this time.

In 1996 at age 15, Appelman pleaded guilty to first-degree child molestation in Clark County Juvenile Court for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old girl for four years.

Appelman was convicted in 2001 of third-degree assault with sexual motivation when he entered a 16-year-old boy’s bedroom and sexually molested him.

He is monitored by the Department of Corrections, the Vancouver Police Sex Offender Traffic Unit and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit.
