Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in the Minnehaha area Thursday.
John Gosnell, 19, was driving a 1981 Toyota Cressida north on Northeast 54th Avenue around 11:30 a.m. when he collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Suburban, which was traveling south and turning east onto Northeast 40th Street, according a bulletin released by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Witnesses said the Toyota was going well above to posted 30 mph speed limit, and investigators say that evidence at the crash scene suggests that speed is a contributing factor in the collision, the bulletin states.
Gosnell suffered a broken femur and was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. A juvenile passenger in the Toyota was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland for injuries that were not life threatening.
The driver of the suburban, Jacob Brooks, 30, was treated at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for a minor leg injury before being released.
