Six people were injured Friday afternoon in a six-car collision on the Interstate 5 Bridge clogged southbound traffic for two hours.
At 3:23 p.m. six cars were involved in a chain reaction rear-end collision, and six people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, said Trooper Will Finn, spokesman for the Washington State Patrol. Emergency responders blocked the left lane on the southbound bridge. The last car was towed from the scene around 4:30 p.m.
Traffic was backed up about five miles to the Northeast 78th Street Exit for more than an hour, as shown by Washington State Department of Transportation video cameras. Traffic was completely cleared around 5:40 p.m.
The State Patrol did not report the drivers’ names or the accident’s cause.
