Online applications for the Washington State Opportunity Scholarship are due at 5 p.m. Feb. 18. Official transcripts must be postmarked by 5 p.m. Feb. 19.
Opportunity Scholarships help low- and middle-income Washington residents earn their first bachelor’s degrees. More than 750 scholarships will be awarded statewide. Students will receive a $1,000 renewable scholarship each year, provided they continue to meet the renewal criteria. The scholarships will help in their pursuit of four-year degrees in eligible high-demand programs in science, technology, engineering, math or health care.
Scholarships are increased to $5,000 for students who reach junior class standing and are pursuing a high-demand major.
Students who received Opportunity Scholarships last year must complete a renewal application, which will be available June 1. For details and to apply, visit www.waopportunityscholarship.org/.
