Vancouver resident Britnee Kellogg continued her quest to become the next “American Idol” on Wednesday.

Kellogg, 28, advanced from the Hollywood group round on the nationally televised Fox network program.

Kellogg was one of four women in a group they dubbed the The Dolly Chicks. Fittingly, they chose the Dixie Chicks’ hit “Sin Wagon” to sing before the celebrity judges.

The performance didn’t come without a struggle. In a repeat of what happened to Kellogg last year, one member of the Chicks didn’t want to rehearse as long as the other three did. “It’s frustrating,” Kellogg complained, noting that she had to do the choreography and work out the harmonies for the group.

At the end, Kellogg and the woman who was reluctant to rehearse — South Carolina hairdresser Hailey Davis — advanced to the next round. The other two contestants were eliminated.

Kellogg’s friend, Aubrey Cleland, 19, of West Linn, Ore., also advanced Wednesday.

The program continues tonight and is seen in this area at 8 p.m. on KPTV-TV, channel 12.
