Vancouver Public Schools Superintendent Steve Webb will lead a March 8 tour of Felida Elementary School and Vancouver iTech Preparatory (middle-school campus at the Jim Parsley Community Center).
The tour of iTech Prep will feature students increasing proficiency in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) subjects through project- and problem-based learning in a technology-supported environment. Felida students are increasing their math proficiency and skills through innovative uses of technology in elementary math programs. In language arts, Felida students will participate in a Socratic-style seminar.
The free, public tour begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 1 p.m. at the Bates Center for Educational Leadership, 2921 Falk Road. An optional luncheon prepared by students in the district’s culinary arts program is available for $4. To register, contact Sue Knable, 313-4720 or susan.knable@vansd.org.
