Four separate Hawks captured district titles as the Hockinson boys swimming team claimed a district team crown Saturday at the Class 2A/1A district meet in Longview.

Hockinson (249.5 points) edged out Mark Morris (238) and Aberdeen (236) for team honors.

The Hawks were led by district champions Dylan Osborne (50 freestyle, 23.43 seconds), Cullyn Newman (100 butterfly, 56.80), William Morris (500 freestyle, 5:23.13) and Jonah Rodewald (100 backstroke, 57.95).

Newman, Rodewald and Osborne teamed up with Dylan Butler to win the 200 medley relay (1:42.95), while Butler, Rodewald, Newman and Morris won the 400 free relay (3:25.11).

Woodland’s Josh Risley was a one-man team, qualifying for state in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststoke.

3A district meet — The Mountain View relay team of Michael Suk, Chris Xue, Cody Mow and Alexander Suk teamed up twice to post wins in the 200 free relay and 400 free relay as the Thunder placed second in the 3A district meet in Kelso.

Hanford won the team title with 396 points. The Thunder followed with 239, and Columbia River was third (212).

Prairie’s Jaron Hamlik won two events — the 100 backstroke (53.03) and 200 individual medley (1:57.05) — in easy fashion.

Columbia River’s David Snuffin was the other local district champion winning a blazing 50 free that included four state-qualifying marks. Snuffin won in 22.25 seconds, and was followed by a trio of Thunder — Xue (22.49), Mouw (22.59) and Alexander Suk (22.63).

River’s Nicholas McMillan also earned an automatic berth to state with a runner-up finish in the 200 free.
