Austin Trafalet was the man on the spot for Toledo, scoring 28 points to rally the Indians to a win in the Class 1A district semifinals in Chehalis.
Woodland moves on to play La Center in a winner-to-regionals/loser-out game at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kelso.
“I was really proud of my kids,” Woodland coach Adam Shepherd said. “They battled their tails off. We went toe-to-toe with a team that is ranked third in the state, and it was a game that could have gone either way.”
A big turning point came right before halftime when Woodland led 32-27 before Trafalet hit a contested 3-pointer at the buzzer.
“We had all the momentum in the world, and then he hits a huge shot,” Shepherd said.
Woodland tried to keep it close late, but when 0 for 4 from the free throw line in the last two minutes.
Tanner Huddleston led Woodland with 12 points, while Kyle Hendrix and Troy Flanagan added 11 each.
