Black Hills had the size and rebounding advantage to get past Hockinson in the 2A district tournament game.

Black Hills pulled away from a four-point halftime edge with an 11-5 third quarter.

“That was one quarter we didn’t shoot well,” Hockinson coach Chad Hamberg said. “They are a big, physical team and probably had 30 rebounds between three players. They controlled the boards and we didn’t have the size to compete.”

Katelyn McGuire had 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Hawks.

Hockinson (9-12) next faces Aberdeen in a 6 p.m. Tuesday loser-out game at Centralia.
