Kyle Hendrix scored all of the Beavers’ eight points in the fourth quarter, but none more important than his last two with seven seconds to play that gave Woodland the victory in the 1A district tournament at W.F. West.

Woodland advances to the tournament semifinals to face Toledo at 5 p.m. Saturday. The winner earns a berth in the 1A state regionals.

Hendrix, who scored a team-high 13 points, was 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the final quarter as Woodland made up a four-point deficit.

“We missed a lot of shots, they missed a lot of shots and we couldn’t make 3s,” Woodland coach Aaron Shepherd said. “We just grinded the game out.”

Tenino got two shots off in the closing seconds in an attempt to tie, but neither fell.

Troy Flanagan had 10 points to go with some solid play on defense for the Beavers.

Tenino’s Devonte Harris led all scorers with 17 points.
