Riverview — The city of Vancouver is getting ready to repair the waterfront Renaissance Trail where it was damaged by erosion and closed to the public in 2011. According to city plans, approximately 1,000 feet of riverfront bank will be stabilized in and around Tidewater Cove, the condominium and office development east of the Water Resource Education Center. The city will remove a viewing platform and reduce the trail width in front of the easterly office building. To the west, in front of the condos, portions of the trail will be replaced and a stairway down to the beach will be removed. The city hopes to begin work in August and finish by October.
