Pets of the week

The Columbian
Published: February 5, 2013, 4:00pm

Madame Meow is 1-year-old gorgeous black and white domestic shorthair. She came to the shelter as a stray and would benefit from a slow introduction to a new household, as well as other cats. She would love to meet any children to make sure she adores them as much as they do her.

Brandy is a beautiful 7-year-old German shepherd mix. She is very sweet and loves people. She’s not too interested in toys but loves getting attention and snuggle time. She knows how to sit, is great on a leash and loves taking slow leisurely walks and hanging out. This low-key girl is looking for a quiet home to spend her days. Brandy will need to meet any dogs or children she will live with and should have a fenced yard. She will need to go to a home without cats or livestock, as she does not understand that they are not for chasing.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
