Deja Nicholas scored 26 points in her first game back from suspension, leading Evergreen to a crucial victory over Union.
With the win, the Plainsmen avoided a tie for the final playoff berth for the upcoming district tournament. Instead, Evergreen finished fourth in the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League and will take on No. 3 Camas on Thursday in the opening round of the tournament.
Had Evergreen lost Tuesday, the Plainsmen would have had to play a playoff game Wednesday.
Nicholas scored 17 of her team’s 20 fourth-quarter points.
Evergreen also held Union, the No. 2 seed, to four points in the third quarter.
Ciar Shannon added 11 points for Evergreen.
Tessa Vanderpool led Union with 10 points. The Titans will face the winner of the Evergreen-Camas game on Friday.
