Clark County jazz students are ‘outstanding’

Mountain View — A number of young Clark County musicians were labeled “outstanding” during the 51st-annual Clark College Jazz Festival last month. The following high school students were presented Outstanding Musician awards during the Jan. 24-26 festival: Hannah Murray of Mountain View High School, Aaron Garner of Hockinson High School, Micah Ritchie of Ridgefield High School and Stephen Reid of Union High School. Middle schoolers earned the same honor: Laura Ahner of Thomas Jefferson Middle School; Lynnea Shapovalov of La Center Middle School; Kristy Haagen and Briell King of Hockinson Middle School; Erik Reinhardt, Eliot Shannon, Miles Meyer and Daniel Inouye of Chief Umtuch Middle School; and Nik Barber, Matt Carr, Dan Conway, Gabriel Pol, Lauren Hunh, Tyler Koford, Alec Jackson and Logan Whittington of Vancouver School of Arts and Academics.
