Local experts to lecture on neuroscience at WSUV

A public lecture at Washington State University Vancouver will focus on neuroscience and its role in improving human lives.

The lecture will feature Christine Portfors, an associate professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at the campus who studies how complex sounds are processed by the auditory system and how hearing loss impacts such processing.

Also lecturing is John Dempster, a neurologist with the Legacy Medical Group who specializes in caring for patients with epilepsy. He will share his expertise in treating and understanding the illness.

Called the Chancellor’s Seminar Series, the lecture will take place at 11:45 a.m. March 1 in the Firstenburg Student Commons at WSU’s Vancouver campus, 14204 N.E. Salmon Creek Ave.
