North Florida beats Mercer 89-80

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Dallas Moore scored 21 points with four assists as North Florida sustained and early lead to beat Mercer 89-80 on Wednesday night.

Chris Davenport had 17 points with six rebounds for the Ospreys (8-7). Jalen Nesbitt came off the bench to score 15 and Travis Wallace added 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.

The Ospreys mounted a 13-4 run in the game’s first five minutes to lead 43-29 at the break. Nesbitt’s 3-pointer at 9:20 in the second period extended the North Florida lead to 20, 66-46. From there, the Ospreys — who led by double digits throughout most of the game — never had to look back.

Ike Nwamu came off the bench to lead the Bears (10-5) with 20 points. Darious Moten had 16 points and seven rebounds.

The loss snapped a Mercer five-game winning streak.
