2013 ALUMNI AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

Victoria Hart, a senior at the University of Idaho, Moscow, was selected for a 2013 Alumni Award for Excellence, based on her academic record, campus accomplishments and community involvement. Hart is in the Honors Program, has a 4.0 GPA and is editor-in-chief of the university magazine, The Blot. She is studying journalism, mass media and English. Hart is a 2010 Prairie High School graduate and the daughter of Cindy and Ken Hart of Salmon Creek.

RISING STAR AWARD

Vivian Cheadle-Manning, director of annual fund and alumni relations at Clark College Foundation, has received the Rising Star Award recipient in philanthropy for 2014. Cheadle-Manning of Vancouver has overseen the raising of $30,000 toward a $100,000 Alumni Association scholarship endowment goal. She nearly doubled Clark College’s employee giving from less than 10 percent participation in 2012 to more than 18 percent a year later. Under her leadership, Clark’s alumni association has increased from 50 to 255 members in the past three years.

WSU VANCOUVER SALES COMPETITION

WSU students Christina Price, a senior studying marketing, and Narges Khademisaysan, a senior studying business administration, were among 22 students in a sales competition Nov. 15; both advanced to the national level. Price and Khademisaysan will represent WSU Vancouver at a national competition in March in Kennesaw, Ga. Four students advanced to a regional level and will represent WSU Vancouver in April in Chico, Calif. They are: Carson Creecy, Heidi Gallear, Shelby Meader and Stephanie Venturella. At the competition, students performed sales presentation role-plays, with sales professionals from local companies serving as judges.
