The Delta Devils (4-9) broke away for good when Blake Ralling snapped a 25-25 tie with a layup and Cameron Dobbs scored off a Cortland Henry steal — one of 23 turnovers for Selma (4-4). The Devils led by eight at halftime and as many as many as 15 in the second half, scoring 32 points off turnovers. They enjoyed a 52-34 advantage on points in the paint.

Selma’s Jamie Washington scored 24 points on 10-for-10 shooting to lead all scorers and brought the Bulldogs to within 73-68 with 7:37 to play.

Tuesday’s game was played at Clarksdale, Miss., an hour’s drive from the MVSU campus. Mississippi Valley State’s home court is undergoing renovations and the rest of its home schedule will be played at Leflore County Civic Center in Greenwood.
