ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Rob Poole scored four of his career-high 28 points during a stunning game-changer of a run in the second half as Siena roared past Fordham 79-69 on Monday night.
Siena (5-8) was trailing by 13 deep into the second half before holding Fordham (7-6) scoreless for an astonishing seven minutes during a 22-0 turnaround.
Fordham took its biggest lead, 53-40, when Jon Severe hit a 3-pointer with 12:06 to play. The Saints scoring run included going 8-for-8 at the free-throw line. Poole scored a pair of buckets and Marquis Wright nailed three shots as Siena went up 62-53 before Fordham scored again with 5:31 left.
Wright finished with 14 points, Evan Hymes 12 and Brett Bisping 10 as coach Jimmy Patsos notched his 150th career victory.
Severe finished with 17 points and Thomas Mandell led Fordham with 20. Siena scored 27 points from the line on 34 free-throw tries.
