Down 12 points at halftime, Prairie rallied for a 62-56 non-league boys basketball win over Camas on Monday.
James Phillips scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the second half to lead Prairie’s charge.
The host Falcons (3-2) took a 56-54 lead with 1:40 remaining, then made free throws to hand Camas its first loss of the season.
Prairie’s offense was its own worst enemy in the first half, in which the Falcons had 11 turnovers.
“We talked at the half about how our offense was hurting our defense,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said. “We were taking quick shots. Camas did a good job of going the other way for easy baskets.”
Prairie had four turnovers in the second half, outscoring Camas 21-9 in the third quarter.
Camas (5-1) entered Monday averaging nearly 80 points per game.
“Our goal was to hold them in the fifties,” Brooks said.
Prairie sophomore Ronnie McPherson added 17 points, including going 5-for-5 from the foul line down the stretch.
Trevor Jasinsky scored 18 points to lead Camas.
