Nominees for high school winter sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Dec. 21. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

LEXI BOTTOMLEY, PRAIRIE GYMNASTICS: Bottomley recorded a score of 9.55 to win the bars and 9.0 on the beam to tie for first in a meet at VEGA gymnastics.

NICOLE GOECKE, PRAIRIE GIRLS BASKETBALL: The senior averaged 17 points a game in three victories for the Falcons, including 16 points and 10 rebounds against Union.

ADRIANNE SCHOCK, BATTLE GROUND BOWLING: Schock rolled games of 237 and 212 to lift the Tigers to a win over Kelso and remained unbeaten on the season.

KIENAN WALTER, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN BOYS BASKETBALL: The sophomore averaged 21 points in three wins for the Knights, including a 30-point game in which Walter converted five 3-pointers.

KENJI YAMASHITA, MOUNTAIN VIEW WRESTLING: Yamashita won three matches by pin then beat Pryce Seely of Richland 8-2 to win the 138-pound division and help Mountain View place second at the Best of the West Tournament in Pasco.
