It’s a good thing new UW coach Chris Petersen has a history of producing a winning team with average talent, because the coaching carousel in Seattle has recruits spinning away from the Dawgs.
The Seattle Times reports four recruits have withdrawn their verbal commitments since Steve Sarkisian left for Southern Cal. Two of those recruits then committed to the Trojans.
As of Wednesday, the Huskies had eight committed recruits for 2014. The UW class is ranked last in the Pac-12 by Scout, Rivals and 247sports.com and as low as 101st in the nation.
The uncertainty around the rest of the Washington coaching staff is complicating matters.
At Boise State, Peterson never had a recruiting class ranked higher than 43rd in the country and never signed a five-star recruit. He did, though, compile a 92-12 record in eight seasons.
