Forty people, including a Vancouver resident, have been arrested on suspicion of gang-related drug and firearm trafficking in Oregon.
Tim V. Duke, 43, of Vancouver is among the suspects. He was being held in the Clark County Jail on Monday on suspicion of delivery and possession with the intent to deliver heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine.
The arrests resulted from a six-months-long cooperative law enforcement operation and included many high-level gang members accused of dealing drugs and illegally obtained firearms, said Lt. Steve Alexander of the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.
Law enforcement recovered 74 firearms, about 8 pounds of drugs, including methamphetamine and heroin, more than $50,000 in cash and a variety of stolen property.
The stolen items include automatic guns, musical instruments, bicycles, vehicles, mail and packages, Alexander said.
Gangs Brood, European Kindred, All On a (Expletive) or AOB, Fat (Expletive) Killers or FBK, Insane Peckerwood Syndicate and Irish Pride were involved in the trafficking, he said.
About half of the suspects were scheduled to be arraigned Monday in U.S. District Court in Portland, Alexander said. Duke was not among the suspects arraigned.
Helping in the operation were the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Attorneys’ Office, Department of Justice, Portland Police Bureau, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Gresham Police Department, Portland Metro Gang Task Force and Multnomah County Probation, Parole and Post-Prison Supervision.
