Brendan Leipsic scored two goals and had an assist as the Portland Winterhawks picked up a 5-4 win at Red Deer in Western Hockey League action Saturday.
Portland (22-5-2-2) led 4-1 in the second period when Red Deer (14-15-0-2) added two goals about four minutes apart to make the score 4-3.
Leipsic’s second goal of the game came at 15:04 in the second to put the Hawks ahead 5-3.
Red Deer’s final goal came shorthanded at 7:08 in the third.
The Hawks close out their road trip with a 3 p.m. tilt in Calgary on Sunday.
