Clark County — The Southwest Washington Math Consortium has received a $24,999 grant from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. The consortium consists of the Battle Ground, Camas, Evergreen and Woodland school districts.
The grant will make it possible to complete the district-developed open Algebra 1 curriculum, pilot the material in the classroom and design professional development resources to accompany it.
Statewide, the consortium plus four other districts were awarded a total of $90,000. The grants will help districts adapt and implement open educational resources aligned with state standards. All content created or modified with these grant funds will be available to everyone.
“Open educational resources” are teaching and learning materials, such as textbooks, that are in the public domain or have been released under an open license so they can be used free of charge — a more efficient way for teachers to access classroom materials.
