Alex Torson scored a career-high 36 points, but Lake City made plays late to beat the Thunder at The Fitz Tournament in Spokane.
Trailing by three with a minute to go, a Mountain View turnover led to a Lake City basket that put away the game for one of Idaho’s highly-ranked teams.
Torson made seven 3-pointers, grabbed six rebounds and had a blocked shot.
“We played really well,” Mountain View coach Aaron Shepherd said. “I thought we battled hard to have a chance against a good team.”
Mountain View faces West Valley of Spokane at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Shepherd will be coaching against Jay Humphrey, who coached Shepherd when he played at Spokane’s University High School.
