Camas is one step closer to naming a new city administrator following a round of interviews Thursday.
Mayor Scott Higgins said he extended an offer to one of the three candidates following the interviews but declined to release the name. He said he wanted to give the candidate time to inform his current employer of the job offer.
Two of those names are familiar ones. Pete Capell is Clark County’s Public Works director and Peter Mayer previously served as the director of Vancouver-Clark Parks & Recreation and is currently the deputy director for the Snohomish Health District in Everett. The third candidate, Joe Hannan, is the city administrator for Mukilteo.
Camas’ next city administrator will replace Nina Regor, who died in October.
Higgins said he was excited about making the offer and believed the city would have a highly qualified city administrator moving forward.
The new city administrator is expected to start work at the beginning of the year.
