Crews will close all lanes of southbound Interstate 5 in Portland tonight to complete repairs and continue cleaning up after an earlier truck crash.
I-5 will be completely closed at the Interstate 405 interchange, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation. All southbound traffic will be diverted to I-405, which reconnects with I-5 after a few miles.
The I-5 closure will last from 8:30 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to ODOT. Workers will use the time to replace a damaged barrier and clean up diesel fuel that leaked as a result of the crash.
The crash caused a lengthy closure on I-5 early today, snarling traffic on freeways in Portland and Vancouver during the morning commute.
