Retention of hatchery chinook continues through Sunday at Buoy 10. Angling has been very good for most of the past week, although was slow on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Angling shifts to hatchery coho only at Buoy 10 on Monday.
Catches and fishing trips in the Columbia upstream of Buoy 10 are building.
Between Tongue Point in Oregon and Rocky Point in Washington upstream to Warrior Rock, hatchery and wild chinook can be kept through Sept. 5, then only fin-clipped chinook from Sept. 6 through 12.
Upstream of Warrior Rock to Bonneville Dam, hatchery or wild chinook can be retained through the season.
Beginning Monday, several regulation changes occur with the arrival of September.
At Swift Reservoir, the daily bag limit increases to 10 fish.
Portions of Abernathy, Cedar, Coal, Germany, Lacamas and Mill creeks, plus the Coweeman River, close to all fishing to protect wild-spawning fall chinook.
In the Kalama River, the stretch from the natural gas pipeline crossing to the deadline at the lower hatchery is fly fishing only.
In the Washougal, the night closure and anti-snagging rules being from the Mount Norway Bridge upstream. The restrictions already are in effect downstream of the bridge.
