An Oregon man was cited after, Washington State Patrol says, he caused a three-car crash on Interstate 205 Sunday evening.

Nathan Zbinben, 19, of Tualatin, Ore., was driving a 2001 Ford Taurus south on the freeway just before 5 p.m. when he struck the vehicle in front of him, a 2013 Dodge Durango driven by Andrew Haynes, 29, of Battle Ground near Northeast 134th Street.

Another vehicle, a 1993 Subaru Legacy driven by Hugo Chang, 61, of Shelton, then crashed into the Taurus.

The collision caused the Taurus to catch fire, but Zbinben escaped without major injury.

An earlier report that two of the drivers were transported to a local hospital could not be confirmed.

Zbinben was cited for suspicion of following too closely.

Both lanes of the interstate were closed for about an hour while crews worked to clear the crash scene.
