Wambui Bahati, an inspirational speaker, author and actor who survived mental illness and domestic violence, will be the keynote speaker at the 19th annual benefit luncheon of the YWCA Clark County. Bahati has appeared on Broadway, in national touring companies and her own one-woman shows; she is the author of books including”You Don’t Know Crazy” and “They Are Not Going to Save Us.”

The YWCA benefit starts at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Hilton Vancouver Washington. Tickets are $50 through Aug. 31 and $60 as of Sept. 1.

The Y is also offering a Dazzle After Dark raffle. Valued at more than $2,500, the package includes more than two dozen gift certificates from local businesses. Only 300 tickets for the raffle will be sold, at $25 each. Call Erin at 360-906-9157 to purchase a raffle ticket in advance. The drawing will be held at the luncheon.

The annual luncheon supports the YWCA’s seven programs, bringing assistance and resources to survivors of domestic violence, homelessness, sexual assault, child abuse and neglect, as well as youth in foster care and incarcerated women.
