Kansas City here they come.
The Portland Thorns will play their National Women’s Soccer League playoff game Saturday at No. 2 seed FC Kansas City.
The Thorns finished the NWSL’s regular season as the No. 3 seed. With 38 points, Portland finished tied with Western New York and Kansas City atop the standings, but those teams get the higher seeding based on goal differential.
With a win Sunday, No. 4 seed Sky Blue FC could have passed Portland on goal differential as well. But they could only draw 1-1 against last place Washington.
Kansas City lost a chance to grab the No. 1 seed Sunday, losing 2-1 to Chicago Red Stars.
Portland and Kansas City will kick off at either at 11 a.m. or 5 p.m.
