Employees at Capitol Subaru Salem came into work Saturday to find a surprise in their parking lot.

A turtle from a lake that is on the middle of the property had crawled onto the parking lot and laid eggs.

“She crawled out underneath the fence and was looking really hard for a place to lay her eggs,” said Carrie Casebeer of Capitol Subaru.

The turtle laid her eggs near sand and gravel. She has not been seen since.

Casebeer said it’s not the first time employees have seen turtles near the property. With the lake, it’s not unusual to see them on the rocks.

A floating green sits in the middle of the lake for employees to hit golf balls at. Casebeer said that during the summer a goose laid eggs in the sand trap.
