This weekend’s fire weather watch in east Clark County and areas to the north has been upgraded to a red flag warning.

Although most of Clark County is not under watch, there’s potential for fire starts in the eastern and northern outskirts due to lightning and dry conditions.

The weather watch is in effect Friday morning through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in Portland.

The Gifford-Pinchot National Forest is also part of the impacted area.
