Make-A-Wish Oregon, which also serves Southwest Washington, is asking for airline miles donation in order to send local kids to dream destinations.

The nonprofit hopes to collect 8 million airline miles in August. Miles donated to the organization’s Wishes in Flight program never expire.

About 75 percent of the wishes granted by Make-A-Wish in Oregon and Southwest Washington last year included air travel. Make-A-Wish arranges travel for wish kids to meet celebrities, visit theme parks, reconnect with close friends who moved away and reach numerous other dream destinations, according to the organization.
